How To Kill Bed Bugs Pt. 2

In the last part, we talked about 2 methods that can effectively kill those annoying bed bugs. However, if they still infest your home, here are 2 more methods you can employ to totally get rid of them.

1. Mattress Covers
Companies that produce those bed bug sprays have also come up with products such as this mattress covers. How can mattress cover actually kill bed bugs?

Since some bed bugs live in your bed and are hard to detect, you would need to cut them their supply of oxygen and food – your blood. When you enclose your mattress with specially made covers, you are preventing new bed bugs from entering and old bed bugs from coming out. The old ones that can’t get out will either die of suffocation or die due to the lack of food.

A comfortable mattress cover is essential as well, so don’t just settle for any mattress covers that is designed for killing bed bugs. Touch and feel the material when buying so that you know you will have a good night’s sleep on the covers. The easiest choice is to buy fabric ones instead of vinyl as vinyl tears easily. You would be wasting more money replacing the vinyls rather than saving because it costs less than fabric.

2. Extreme Temperatures
Bed bugs only like to live in mild climates. Increasing your heating system in your house to the maximum will not be enough to kill. The same goes to turning down the air conditioner to the lowest temperature.

This is because both device can’t really produce temperatures that are extreme enough for the bed bugs to die. You need to go the troublesome route and wash all your clothes, mattresses, curtains and linen in very very hot water to kill them.

In conclusion, combining all 4 methods from this part and the previous post will ensure that you are able to get rid of bed bugs from your house.
